Activity One

The integration of ICT in the Fitz Hughes Government school where I am a Grade Three teacher can be describe as slow.

Teachers are using the limited resources to integration curriculum content to their classes to the best of there knowledge and ability. Daily teachers will surf the internet for learning materials that are suitable to the needs, abilities and age of their students.

However factors such as the :

 1. Availability of limited resources coupled with the lack of a proper programme to service computers are hindering the process.

2. Lack of training from the Ministry of Education to effectively implement ICT in the schools have some teachers at a stand still.

When all is said and done teachers are trying to integrate ICT but some more effort is still needed to be done from the stakeholders and the schools in general.

"It is impossible for a developing nation to compete with developed nations in the field of ICT integration in schools."

It is my opinion that its not impossible for a developing nation such as St Vincent and the Grenadines to compete with developed nations in the field of ICT integration in schools. As long as the necessary framework, training and resources are provide to the people of the country without any form of discrimination..
At times limited resources are provided and there is no proper planning, method of implementation or method to maintain these resources. Also teacher must be aware to how they can effectively implement ICT integration.
